Infants Program
Our infants are provided a nurturing environment that supports the development of their communication skills, fine motor skills and gross motor skills.
Toddler Program
Our toddlers, pre k and kindergarten programs engage children in rich, thematic, play-based activities that support and encourage curiosity while preparing children for success in 1st grade.
Afterschool Program
Transportation to Excellence ELC, healthy snacks, outside play, homework help and, educational games such as chess and other skill-building games with friends.
Why Excellence elc?
Excellence Early Learning Center began as a Licensed In-Home Daycare in Bedford, TX and has now found a new home at a center in Hurst, TX! With an in home feel, we provide your child the loving, personal care that they need to thrive and feel confident.
Excellence ELC is owned and operated by Dr. Aminah Knight who holds Doctorate in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from USC and a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education and Special Education from NYU. Dr. Knight is also a New York State Certified Educator with over 10 years of experience in teaching and leadership.
At Excellence ELC, we believe that all children can learn and succeed when they are in an environment that is safe, stimulating, and supportive of their individual needs.
Our goal at Excellence ELC is to understand the unique needs and learning styles of each individual child and meet those needs through play based activities and thematic units that are sure to develop a love for learning in every child!

Play-based learning helps your child to develop language and communication skills that are essential for their growth and development. Learning through play also supports your child in increasing their problem solving skills, is essential for kindergarten readiness!

At Excellence ELC we are dedicated to providing a warm, home-like environment for all of our children. Our warm setting for infants supports a closer bond to our students and more individualized attention.
Community Engagement
Our families and community members are our greatest resource! We are committed to partnerships that allow the sharing and maximizing of the resources within our community. We enrich our curriculum during our thematic units through inviting local organizations such as bakery owners, dentist, doctors, firefighters and police officers to share their experience and expert knowledge with our students and families.

“Where do I begin … the level of communication that is provided to me while I’m at work to give me peace of mind is unbelievable !! Via an app that is utilized by this learning center I know when she ate , went potty , took her nap , went out to play and much more which is amazing! When we moved to the HEB area over the summer my #1 worry was finding quality childcare for my 3 year old. Excellence ELC has exceeded ALL of my expectations! My son is actually excited to go to “school” & most days doesn’t want to leave when I pick him up. I love that they follow an actual lesson plan. They have a “cafeteria” menu so that we know what our child eats each day, & my most favorite thing is that she sends pictures and videos throughout the day to let you know how your child is doing. I am VERY pleased with EELC! My 2 yr old son loves going and I can already see an improvement in his social skills and language development. I love the fact that Mrs. Aminah pays attention to each child’s individual learning needs. She also sends awesome pics/vids and updates throughout the day so I know when he has napped, ate and potty. I am glad to have found such a great fit for my son and I plan on keeping him here until life says otherwise!

I was lucky to find Excellence Early Learning Center at a time when I needed to make arrangements for my early school-age daughter. This home environment has been a perfect fit for us. Although she is aimed at younger children, Ms. Aminah was able to engage my daughter in many age-appropriate activities that she both loved and learned through. I quickly felt very comfortable leaving my daughter at this center and allowed her to continue her enrollment even after our childcare need was no longer necessary. I find Ms. Aminah to be easy to work with and communicate with. The app that she uses to post daily updates and pictures is helpful in keeping me informed on how my child’s day went. I look forward to continuing at this location for our future childcare needs.
